Reforestation on Bonaire is a challenging task. For every area/project we analyze the best approach. Our methods include assisted natural regeneration (ANR), increase of biodiversity by planting (rare) trees or promoting pioneer establishment.

Freshwater is an important driver for terrestrial nature development on this dry tropical island. BonBèrdè is involved with several projects aiming to reduce the freshwater runoff into the ocean. By constructing dams, we collect the precious topsoil, water and nutrients in those areas that need it the most.

The practical implementation of BonBèrdè’s work is based on a sound, scientific approach. Our research and monitoring involve: environmental impact assessments (MER), area inventories, flora and fauna reports, management plans and scientific research.

BonBèrdè guides our clients in a step-by-step approach to design the best nature-based projects. We assist in a wide range of subjects within the field of nature restoration. We use local expertise and a vast network of stakeholders and partners.

Removal of invasive species (grazers) from natural areas. We use a practical, out of the box, hands on and fitted approach.

Maintenance and development of selected natural areas, both large and small. This includes tree planting, area design, pruning and removal of non-native vegetation.
