Nature-inclusive development
In contrast to previous years, future housing areas will no longer be planed bare, destroying all types of vegetation.
In the context of the “Proyekto Bibienda Pagabel/Woondeal” 148 homes will be built in the Dawari area. In contrast to previous years, future housing areas will no longer be planed bare, destroying all types of vegetation. The Bonaire Land Policy Memorandum 2022 – 2025 stipulates that future housing areas will be developed using the method of “area development” and that this must involve “nature-inclusive development”, whereby the existing vegetation must be preserved and strengthened as much as possible by stimulating the growth of this vegetation. The homes will be “fitted in” within the existing and newly planted vegetation.
The Dawari housing area is the first area where the “nature-inclusive approach” is applied. The nature-inclusive approach will also be applied when starting construction of the Rincon Pariba area.
